Excellent article Tom and great message. Today everyone wants a quick hack in everything they do in life. Food Hack, Money Hack, Relationship Hack, Career Hack...No such thing. Oh yes there are hacks of all sorts but everyone going for hacks is thinking short term. The process you outline in your article is for those who seek long term success and once got it figured out through as you say the process, can do it over and over again in different domains. Not easy and that is why only a few manage it. I am guilty of chasing the quick paths in the past but now my mindset is as you put down in your article. Break down your end goal, put in a little work each day, it will be difficult but keep at it, success may or may not come but you have knowledge with every day that passes which would guide you should you pivot and sure enough, it would come to you. Try as much as possible to document your progress, for your records, to gage your progress, share it, get it out there for instant feedback, others on the same journey as you will pull you though on those hard days. There is something very powerful in capturing what you have learned or have knowledge on. You can share it, impact others, but most of all it is a reference to how far you have come and what you are capable of. This knowledge, this data, is your motivation, your drive. It will propel you, the direction is up to you. We all have motivation, however getting ourselves to take action and consistent action for that matter is the hard bit. I suffer from it too, but the difference is I am aware of it and can react to it. We will all have good and bad days on our journey, as Tom says..."you have to love your journey to reach your end state". Thanks for sharing Tom. Stay blessed always.
