Summary Of My Progress Through Week 10

It was an exciting start to the week.

Finally got down to learning, or teaching, myself another automation test tool — Cypress.

Although the job takes priority I will not compromise on my personal development.

It will always get done.

I just need to rearrange how I spend my days or move tasks to another day.

I’m keeping up the momentum of my running weekly schedule.

(More on that in the physical fitness section below.)

I have found time during the day to listen to an audiobook I bought.

I am glad to be back listening to books, I have not done so for some time now.

Prayer and meditation as usual.

My financial fitness is still in a mess but steps are being put in place to get where I would like to be.

Aim is to have peace of mind and less worry in this area.

Read or Listen

This week I came across a blog by Darius Foroux.

I am searching and seeking knowledge on financial literacy.

That is how I came across this blog.

His article that caught my attention was Earn, Save, Invest: 3 Rich Habits For Life.

He points out in order to become wealthy you start with developing healthy financial habits.

And also you increase your value to other people or an organisation by learning new skills.

Increased value should equate to increased earnings.

The aim will then be to save and invest increase in earnings.

Physical Activity

My body is telling me I need conditioning to run long distances.

I have done no research on this yet but since I have been running 10km the muscles around my lower stomach ache.

This has led me to believe I require an exercise regime that will help strengthen my core muscles.

Week 10 and I have been out twice and both times where 10km runs.

The longer you stay out on a run the more challenging it becomes on mind and body.

There is the boredom of monotony and the physical impact on your body.

I always run round the same .65km circuit so might be time for a change of scene to combat the boredom.

I will definitely have to address both boredom and conditioning as I continue towards my goal to run a marathon by the end of March 2022.

Meditation And Prayer

I am very happy this week to come across a Christian website called ChristiansTT.

There is content on prayer, spiritual welfare and devotionals.

I will continue to explore this site and use it’s teachings and content in our daily prayers and meditation.

We aim to start each day with prayer, praise and worship of our Lord God followed by meditation and peacefulness.

Financial Fitness

Another investment newsletter I have a free subscription for is The Motley Fool.

A wee google search and we are told they are the best stock picking newsletter.

The pitch of the newsletter is to make stock market investing easier.

Fee paying subscribers get recommendations from the experts on which stocks to buy.

For now I use these free investment newsletters for my financial literacy.

As I mentioned before, I need to get my finances in a good place to build up an investment fund.

I am still at step one of my financial fitness journey and that is to increase my income.

Conclusion

A couple of lessons learnt this week around my physical and financial fitness:

The need to start doing some form of body strengthening exercises to help support my frame while running.

Concerning financial fitness, my journey will be in three phases; increase earnings / income, saving and ultimately investing.

The journey I am on with my personal growth is geared towards physical, mental and financial health.

So far into this journey, I am trying to address the first stage of my financial fitness.

Many thanks for reading and Stay Blessed.

As always, if you are following along with your own personal growth plan, wishing you awesome progress in week 11.
