Summary Of My Progress Through Week 6

The second week in month two already.

Feeling lots better this week, health-wise.

My learning progress has not been the smoothest but I learn to adapt and be flexible.

The aim is to learn, grow and develop.

It is all about making this a steady process rather than one that becomes overwhelming and grinds to a halt.

On the other hand, I need to have measurable, timed, boxed goals to aim for along the journey.

You might be reading this and saying well that is obvious.

This is a life plan, trying to keep it as alive and progressive as possible bar unavoidable delays.

I should be done with teaching myself Serenity BDD Cucumber, Selenium, and JUnit by end of March, but for issues during code execution on topics learned.

As already mentioned a few times, my growth plan is a holistic approach to my personal development.

Some areas will no doubt lag behind at certain points but the key is to stay focused in my approach, a complete personal development plan not just career development.

Videos

This week’s videos uploaded on my YouTube channel which is part of my learning topics with Test Automation;

  • No coding videos put up this week.

I will look into putting in a couple of videos next week around the sort of errors I have been coming across to help others should there encounter the same issues and are looking for solutions.

Blogs

This week’s blogs on my learning topics on Test Automation published on my website;

  • No, write up on my website this week.

Same as with my YouTube channel.

I might put up a couple of blogs around the sort of errors I have come across so far to help others should they come across similar issues.

Read or Listen

I read a couple of articles on Test Automation this week.

Both articles were around Python and Test Automation;

I will look into learning Python during my growth plan at some point but for now, I have Serenity BDD and the next API automation to get through.

Physical Activity

Still in the RED.

However, I did manage to get out for a run this week.

Staying very active with long walks and stretches during the days.

I need to check out setting myself a different goal with my running to get myself going again.

Watch this space.

Meditation And Prayer

Not many changes with meditation and prayer for us at present:

Short meditation session and prayer in the morning before the school run and same before bedtime.

In between, I do find a wee moment of quiet and use this to relax my mind and focus on the bigger picture of my journey through life.

I would love to have one-hour meditation sessions on my own but that is not likely to happen at the moment.

I recognize and remain conscious of this desire for now.

Financial Fitness

Always on the lookout to grow my financial knowledge.

My friend and brother at work introduced me to a YouTube channel called MamaFurFur.

The creator of this channel makes videos on personal finance, investing, and entrepreneurship.

I am now a subscriber to her channel and keep watch out for her videos on personal finance and investing.

She also has a few products she is selling and one of them is a budgeting excel spreadsheet.

I probably will get my hands on it once I am in the position to start saving for investment purposes.

Conclusion

Coming across issues while putting to practice what I have learned has slowed me down as expected.

At this point, I am thinking that learning within a community might be the best option as this would provide added motivation.

However, I feel that driving my learning to suit my own objectives and individual goals is the way it has to be for now.

I have been able to solve issues encountered so far by seeking help from colleagues and friends who are Automation Test Engineers.

The time it takes to turn around these issues is the problem but, for now, I stay focused on my overall plan and try to improve on my process as I go along.

Many Thanks and Stay Blessed.
