Summary Of My Progress Through Week 9

End of April and the beginning of May, my birthday month.

Week 9 started great.

This week I was out twice on a run and one of those outings was a 10km and the other, a 5km run.

Very proud of myself for being able to get back to where I was months back.

This is before the winter period kicked in.

Being able to do a 10km run.

So I need to keep this current momentum going.

I do still face blockers on the technical front but I will hopefully clear those.

It’s more about the time lost on learning other technical skills or tools on my list.

I am still learning new information in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

This is all part of my holistic growth journey.

Read or Listen

I carry on dipping in and out of a very long audiobook:

Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender By: David R. Hawkins MD. PHD. Narrated by: Peter Lownds PhD

I have probably mentioned this book already.

I would love to do a long-term project based on the content of this book as an experiment but that is for another day.

The book gives great insight into how to recognize and deal with our emotions.

In doing so, we let go of any obstacles on our way to peace and enlightenment.

The letting go technique described in this book is fascinating.

A must-read / listen I would say.

Physical Activity

I didn’t meet my regular exercise target of running three times weekly.

However, one of these runs was a 10km run so I am very pleased with this aspect of my personal development area.

Hopefully, I’ll get to run more than a single 10km in the weeks ahead.

The build-up has begun.

Watch this space.

Meditation And Prayer

Not much change here this week.

Prayer and Meditation start and ends our days.

We continue to listen to daily devotional sermons.

These sermons come to us via an early morning WhatsApp daily message from my mother-in-law who is out in Cameroon.

I also do long daily walks which is my time of solitude.

During this time I reflect and try to make sense of any issues I am faced with at the time or try to reflect on the bigger picture of life and how to best navigate it.

Financial Fitness

Spent some time this week doing a wee bit of due diligence on;

Fortune & Freedom With Nigel Farage — A £99 annual investment newsletter subscription.

The opinion I share with those who disagree with this investment newsletter is, investment should be treated as a long-term project.

Long-term financial investment goals should be set.

And link your investment choice to those long-term investment financial goals.

I will hold off investing in any of the suggestions this newsletter makes and will not be subscribing to the annual payment plan.

A major turn-off is also that it’s unregulated.

If you invest in any of the asset classes they suggest, if things go wrong, you don’t get any of your investment back.

Conclusion

April has been a good month all around.

Not much progress this month around up-skilling within the Test Automation field.

But this is set to pick up again as I learn/teach myself a new Test Automation Tool in Cypress.

You can read my blog post to find out why I am learning another Test Automation Tool.

I have made good progress in other aspects of my personal growth, particularly around my mind, body, and soul.

Long may my holistic approach to all-around growth continue.

Many thanks for reading and Stay Blessed.

As always, if you are following along with your own personal growth plan, wishing you awesome progress in week 10
