I had a long list of negative emotions that I had suppressed over a very long period.

And all these emotions stemmed from grief.

The loss of my father and brother within a short space of time left me with a lot of emotional upheaval.

I was left with confusion about how both losses had come about.

It all happened so fast.

I was worried, bewildered and, at 21 years old in our culture, not entitled to get answers to my questions.

Then I found myself in a strange land, Scotland.

But, despite plenty of loving family and friends around me I was still lost.

How I dealt With My Negative Emotions

Lost in this haze of hurt, frustration, bitterness, sadness, loneliness.

I suppressed all these negative feelings and just got on with life as best I could.

However, now and again they would surface.

I would kind of deal with them temporarily by any means possible, mainly through escaping from and avoidance of these feelings.
